Overview
Welcome to Disco Dent's new take on the classic character counter. This tool is designed to help you easily see how many characters and words are in your text. It also provides a way to quickly and easily trim your dental school application essays to meet character limits.
As someone who frequently writes way more than the character limit, I built this tool to help me quickly identify and remove duplicate whitespaces or unnecessary new lines. Simply paste your personal statement, activity descriptions, or anything else into the text box and watch the magic happen!
How to Use
Start typing or paste your text into the text box. The character counter will automatically update as you work.
Click the "Clear Text" button to remove all text from the text box. You will be prompted to confirm before the text is removed.
Click the "Copy Text" button to copy the contents of the text box to your clipboard.
Click the "Hide Highlighting" button to remove the duplicate whitespace highlighting from the text box.
Click the "Reveal Extra Whitespace" button to mark all of the duplicate and unnecessary whitespace in your text.
Click the "Clear Extra Whitespace" button to clear all of the duplicate and unnecessary whitespace from your text. Watch the character count drop!

All text processing is performed solely on your device within your browser environment. No information is transmitted to, or stored by, our servers. We do not have access to, or visibility of, any information you input.
