About
As someone who often exceeds word and character limits in my writing, I spend way too much time trimming my essays. I have noticed that Google Docs and Word often fails to catch extra spaces I unintentionally added my text. Therefore, I created this tool to help streamline the process of identifying and eliminating duplicate spaces and extra new lines. Just paste your text-whether it's a personal statement, activity descriptions, or any other content-into the text box, and let the tool efficiently clean it up for you! I hope you enjoy this new variation on the many classic character counters out there.
Instructions
Start typing or paste your text into the text box below. The word and character counters will automatically update as you work.
Click the "Clear Text" button to remove all text from the text box. You will be prompted to confirm before the text is removed.
Click the "Copy Text" button to copy the contents of the text box to your clipboard.
Click the "Hide Highlighting" button to remove the duplicate whitespace highlighting from the text box.
Click the "Reveal Extra Whitespace" button to mark all of the duplicate and unnecessary whitespace in your text.
Click the "Clear Extra Whitespace" button to clear all of the duplicate and unnecessary whitespace from your text. Watch the character count drop!
